Thales, Clavister and Blackthorn signed a long-term strategic agreement today, building upon a cybersecurity and defence business relationship.
Under the terms of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the companies will work together to develop areas of cooperation within the global cybersecurity- and defence domains to benefit both companies’ customers.
The purpose of this MoU is to support the companies’ joint effort in addressing Swedish customers’ governmental and private needs relating to platform cybersecurity in connection with enhanced networking, routing, computing and Cloud Infrastructure.
“Thales is committed to building strong industrial collaborations and trusted local partnerships to the benefit of our international customers. Advanced cybersecurity is critical in today’s military platforms. Together with Clavister and Blackthorn, we can protect the Swedish Armed Forces with Swedish cybersecurity while meeting operational needs. Thales will leverage its rational and easy-to-use network solutions, delivering such solutions into programs like ASTRID 3 in France and DCIS Firefly to NATO to support Swedish Armed Forces both for the national defence and as NATO allies”, says Håkan Ahlström, Country Director Thales Sweden.
John Vestberg, CEO of Clavister commented on signing the MoU, “I think joining forces with Thales is a good example of how we as a Swedish cybersecurity expert company can add value and further enhance a mature Thales solution like SOTAS. All parts of a military platform need to be protected and the SOTAS solution is a critical communication network within the Swedish military vehicles”.
“Blackthorn represents extensive competence and state-of-the-art technology which combines the ingenuity of both Thales and Clavister software solutions into new capabilities from Tactical Edge up to Strategic level offering a unified approach to networking and connectivity, fulfilling both national and NATO requirements for interoperability – says COO Blackthorn Rickard Thörn.
